Student Leadership & Accessibility
A vibrant group of student leaders from the Wave Club played a central role in planning and preparing sessions and activities, ensuring programming was accessible and welcoming for all. Their dedication to inclusive design reflected our commitment to meeting students where they are and supporting diverse wellness needs.
Attendance & Keynote Grades 9–12 students gathered for an inspiring keynote from Matthew Snowden, NCC's former chaplain, setting a positive tone for the day of self-care and community engagement.
Programming Offerings
Students had access to a diverse range of activities designed to support wellness:
- Mindfulness & Creative Expression: Dance yoga with "Yoga With Mikenze", mindful journaling, rock painting, and air-dry clay
- Relaxation & Play: Puzzles, games, classic cards, and colouring
- Active Recreation: Skating, open gym time, ice skills challenges (hockey and figure skating), and boccia
- Community & Learning: OYAP hands-on skills experience, Games Club deck games (Magic: The Gathering), and a walking track with thinking prompts
- Refueling Station: OYAP-sponsored snacks and hot chocolate
